UK Chart hits

Statistics for singles that charted in the United Kingdom since 1952

Chart entries 1952-2019

This table attempts to include all singles that entered the official UK singles chart since its inception in 1952. Data is currently provided and maintained as a single .txt file (approx. 3.6Mb) parsed as JSON and updated regularly. Tracklistings for Extended Play (EP) releases are being included. Excluded are re-entries by releases within the same calendar year as their first entry (or first re-entry within a subsequent year).

{NE} denotes the release's first entry. {RE} denotes the release's re-entry where applicable. Releases listed as re-entries may have only peaked within the Top 75 on that re-entry (as opposed to their initial chart-run). Re-entries that failed to peak within the Top 75 are being removed from this dataset. These criteria affect the figures provided for the total number of chart entries per year on this page, resulting in approximate figures only.
